I was so embarrassed because I was taking my friends out to lunch to thank them for a favor they did for me. The waitress forgot to bring steamed rice and had to be fagged down to refill water. The sherbet was pre-scooped and place in the freezer with a spoon stuck in it. The bean sprouts were so bitter that I wouldn't even eat them. The steak ordered rare was stone cold in the center. The shrimp were so tough we could hardly eat them. The fried rice was not even hot when put on our plates. The 'chef' kept flipping them over and over and THEN kept pressing them flat against the grill. The scallops were fried until they were lifeless. There were 6 people at the table with orders of scallops, shrimp, chicken and steak. In my life I have never seen a 'chef' kill the food he was cooking like the one we had this week. Should not be accosted by entire staff over something as simple as an overcharge of an appetizer. I told them of the couple giving me theirs and they still wanted to argue over the amount of shrimp I was served. I made the waitress aware and next thing I know the waitress, chef and manager are at my table asking me how many shrimp I had on my plate. At bill time I saw I was not charged for appetizer, but for added Shrimp (5 piece), difference of a couple dollars. There was a couple at our table that received Shrimp with their Lunch Feast, but did not want so they told chef to give to me. My issue was with the overcharging of my Shrimp appetizer, I ordered the appetizer with my meal - should be 3 pieces. other Japanese Steak Houses over this one. The food is edible and average, we prefer a couple. Our son and daughter-in-law always told us how they liked the one by them, we had a coupon and decided to give them a try. Ichiban has several locations, Georgesville location has terrible Customer Service.
